Just wanted to know if Nothing Phone 2 supports Wifi 6E in India, as there is no mention in documentation…

Documentation(Nothing Website) only says that it support Wifi 6, Also PC Mag website…

Wifi 6 standard works over 5Ghz IG

But Wifi 6E standard works over both 5Ghz and 6Ghz

So If anyone can confirm that Indian Variant support Wifi 6E?

On loading any custom rom! The phone supports the WI-FI 6E STANDARD.BUT ON NOTHING OS in India 6E has been disabled! For some reason!

Please answer!! Whyy!

As of now 6GHz is kept for military use only in India so it is not available for use in mobile devices.

Yeah it’s not. I think talks are going on between the government, OEM and Telcos but no luck until now.

They Removed 6Ghz support from NP2 (Indian unit) in OS 3.0

I mean 6Ghz is not legal here, but they should not remove it…

If anybody travels abroad, then it can’t utilise the 6Ghz spectrum of wifi from NP2

thanks for sharing, not even know that phone 2 is capable of receiving 6ghz until I read your post and check on the device info, I didn’t see it in the spec sheet even in nothings website about this capability, maybe because only few countries yet have 6E enabled, like here in the Philippines, 6hz was approved just this year.

Yeah, same for the NP 2a and 2a Plus. Both respective SoC’s support it (MTK Dimensity 7200 Pro and MTK Dimensity 7350 Pro) and apparently it worked before/works with custom roms. So what’s the issue?

I mean at least enable it in countries where it’s legal. There is regdb and country codes for this!

Hey Nothing, it will great if you bring back Wifi 6E support of NP2 over 6 Ghz, NP2 supports that in NOS 2 versions, but it got disabled from NOS 3.0 in Indian Units of Nothing Phone 2

Despite countless complaints, the Nothing team is STILL not adding 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6E support to the Indian variant of the Phone 2!

Other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus have already started pushing OTA updates to unlock the 6 GHz band in India. But Nothing? They’re just sitting on it like it doesn’t matter.

I’m pretty sure they’ll never add it. They’ll probably just forget about it completely once the phone hits EOL.
