Very interesting open mind project looks very cool.
Developing My Own Magsafe Accessories
Amazing
Derren that’s pretty cool and love the Gameboy cartridge aesthetic. Is there a reason for the holes in the base plate? Any reason not solid? or is it for some future design just curious. I wonder how the card holder works with the official cmf card wallet plate? Is the cartridge specifically sized for pokemon cards or could you use it for a bank card? Or perhaps put a picture in there?
Anonymous142 honestly the holes in the back plate is purely just aesthetics. I commited to it because I couldn’t get it to work initially and instead of giving up I kept going until I got it right. You could have a solid one if you wanted.
I’m also intrigued to see how this would work with the official card holder plate, it probably would since it’s all just about magnets.
While it’s made for the average size trading card, there’s no reason you couldn’t have a Polaroid photo or something like that, and some loyalty cards might work. Bank card is a little thicker so it would get stuck, however a slight adjustment on width would solve that.
Always great to see 3D projects coming to reality!
This was fun to read!
That purchase of the Bambu labs printer has certainly paid off. I cannot wait to see what else you craft with it…
Also, some really beautiful Pokémon cards used to display your prints. Really showing off the glorious art, both of the trading card itself and your clean prints
Just one word: Mindblowing!
Ealesy101 I’ve been wanting to make the investment for a while, it’s such a cool gadget to own.
Also for people to bear in mind, I actually only have 2 filaments to start me off. There are some really cool types of filament that glow in the dark, sparkle, marble effects, and translucent ones that would be great to replicate a crystal cartridge
Have enjoyed following your journey in creating this, and I think the end result is amazing! Well done and congrats on your continued development around this. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next
So cool omg!! Congrats
I actually really like this idea. I’m assuming the card would be protected in some way? Doing the prototyping with a 3d printer saves you guys a lot of time and money I’m sure. I haven’t experimented with functional prints in CAD or Blender, but that looks like the smart thing to do.
