Hi,
I’ll answer you because I also use Bud Pro 1 with Apple Music and yesterday I bought the Bud Pro 2 for a problem with the audio of the right speaker.
Unfortunately you won’t hear any difference, Apple doesn’t recognize LDAC in any way so for you it’s totally different.
To be able to notice this difference the only way is to buy Apple Airpod Pro 2 or Apple Airpod 4
I am using LDAC on Buds 2 Pro, and my Phone Moto Edge50 Fusion supports LDAC. I am using Apple Music, and most of the tracks are lossless / High-res. The difference after I set the Buds Pro 2 LDAC is significant. I think the reason is that the lossless tracks are being transferred with little or no compression, as the connection on both ends is LDAC. The difference is such that I am using Buds Pro in LDAC mode only, even though the use of LDAC reduces Bud’s battery life.
Update: Few related information. 1. Apple Music app lets you select if you want to stream lossless or not. I choose lossless over wifi and download to reduce data consumption. 2. When phone and Buds connect via LDAC protocol, the AAC files are decompressed and reencoded to the highest bit rate codec available. So even high-bitrate AACs also sound as they should. 3. CMF Buds pro 2 are Hi-Res certified meaning it has DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) capable of Hi-Res. Bottomline: Switching on the LDAC on the buds and having a phone that supports LDAC will improve the sound quality to the max possible for the given audio driver.
