edit : see 9th post of this thread , the guy ialexander has posted detailed steps . actually there is a feature in nothing to

charge upto 80 percent , but it only works at night time . there is a post where a dev replied with this answer

step 1 :-check mark the battery health option in settings (steadily overnight charging option)

step 2:- set an alarm anytime between 4am to 8am in the morning .

step 3:- plug in you phone after 9pm at night .

after following these steps the phone charges upto 80% slowly and will charge rest 20% when you are nearing to alarm time . I have followed these steps and it actually works . few things you will notice instantly that the phone does not show charging rapidly with the same fast charger if you are doing above steps . also it will steadily charge upto 80 % . and hold it there for like idk how long . (if you check the battery percentage in between it will assume you are not sleeping and charge will go till 100%. try it out ,

ghumnewala Yeah but i never charge during night time, usually only daytime, but maybe i will when i need to, at night, the battery usually holds up until morning, but i will definitely try these steps if or when i have to charge it during night time, thank you 🙏

Ealesy101 but this is only for night time with an alarm set? 🤔 I would love this as an day time function as well, minor thing, but can be as helpful as on night time, since i usually don’t charge when i sleep

Sonixxone - for the use case I have posted above, yes, it was on charge overnight with a morning alarm set. As pointed out in the parameters required in the above post.

Lots of users have requested the top percentage cap, I am hopeful this shall be implemented soon! 🤞🏼 It would certainly help keep the devices running for longer.

      Hi,
I’m really pleased with my 2a phone. Without any bloatware. Thank you.

I would like to have also this feature to cap the phone charge because of another scenario when I drive and the phone is plugged in into the car’s head unit…

      Thanks!

I tried multiple times using the correct charging unit and setting an alarm in the morning while charging ai night.

The results are that It charged fully all the times even hours before the alarm. Please add or fix this feature

gerksterr Good thing that they heard about it, eagerly waiting for the update to set the charging limit

      gerksterr

This has been available on the CMF Phone 1 since the day 1. Only problem is the 33w charger still not available to buy.

Add this to nothing phone 2 please, it’s the only thing that (for me) Is missing on np 2

Hey Nothing community! I’m loving my Nothing phone but think it could be even better. Most phones these days have a feature to limit battery charging to around 80% to help it last longer. It would be awesome to see Nothing add this option too. It’s a small change that could make a big difference in the long run. What do you think?

I support, I had before nothing Huawei, there was a limiting function, the smartphone lived for 4 years, retaining 80% of the capacity.

If I am not mistaken, Nothing introduced a custom charge limiter on Nothing OS 2.6 - but only on the CMF Phone 1. Fingers crossed the limiter will also come to the other phones with the next firmware updates.

this is the feature i’m looking forward to, my last phone (galaxy s10+) got to a point of needing a power bank every time i left the house. hopefully i can maintain the battery of my np2a with a software update

I am writing this because I always try to use batteries of my devices most efficiently and for Li-ion batteries, the best way to keep them from losing capacity is to avoid full charges, temperature from it will cause it to lose more charging cycles from what I understood. So basically, best way to do it is to charge from 20% to 80%. What I would like Nothing to add to Nothing OS is a way to limit charging to 80%, or even better to a custom percentage. (Example is what samsung did on their version of Android). Other than that, I really like.using Nothing OS. Could you please add that?
