From the asus zenphone 8 last year asus have used an led backlight system which actually looks very much like nothings style ( dot matrix) and also can display actual useful informations than the glyph interface, nothing should try to use that system instead of glyph lights. Also with that light system we can also have a full matt back glass finish.

      Hmm … glyph lights i would say is something that really gives Identity for NP … i would be super sad to see see them gone … but i think that it would be more awesome so give more freedom for user to program them .. like color, moments when glyphs work etc.
