What's the purpose of swipe gesture on status bar?

On the home screen if you swipe the corner of the phone over the status bar as if you’re going back in an app you get the dot matrix back icon appear and the phone vibrates, but it doesn’t actually do anything.

Does this serve a purpose I’m unaware of or just a bug?

I asked Nothing support but they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot asking me to reboot the phone and disable gestures…

It has no use, it’s mostly because the status bar UI is not part of the home screen which results in the ability to execute the back gesture. Nothing else

spacexfan fair enough, this sometimes prevents me pulling the notification drawer down, but I suspect it’s hard to remove as it’s needed in other parts of the UI
