Nothing Gallery | Discussion, Thoughts, & Reviews
I’ve been at the Nothing Gallery for a few days , and I think it’s very good and interesting but It’s missing a few features that I think are very important and should be added to it:
1.The need to be able to recognize people’s faces, categorize photos according to the faces they contain, or be able to search for them.
2. Categorize similar photos yourself.
These were the things that came to my mind.
Provoost sorry, just saw your comment! it does not help; it is still defaulting to the whole DCIM folder. You can only add extra things. Somehow the google gallery (the previous default app) managed to update this, but it is not a thing yet with the nothing gallery. hope to see this implemented in the future!

On NOTHING gallery, please try to avoid the screenshots from all photos section.
Does anyone else has this problem or just me? Cause I am unable to search anything in my Gallery except if I give the file names correctly. Is it an upcoming feature with AI or something?
Same here, I’m not sure what they have in mind, but I’m really hoping it works more or less like the AI search in Google Photos
I don’t know what your problem is, but it works well for me. I can search for the place where the photo was taken, by folder name, by dates and objects or something like that. For example, I’ll type the word “Moon” in the line, and the search engine will give me a photo of the moon, whether it exists or not. It doesn’t work with all things, but for the beta version, it’s better.
The months and years search works. But I do get suggestions for objects in search bar. For example I have photos of flowers. And when I type flower, I get the suggestion in search bar, but I don’t get any images back.
It’s because of the suggestions I get in search bar I was wondering if the object searching in Gallery works.

I got an excellent idea of putting an gif image in photo widget but to my dismay gallery app doesn’t even support gif image. Please nothing this is basic, just imagine how wonderful my lockscreen would look with an moving image of Carl in lockscreen widget.

Until you can edit and backup photos or even set a photo as a wallpaper, the gallery app is pretty much useless unless you just want to look at pictures and do nothing more. I’ve disabled the Nothing Gallery app and will continue to use Google Photos which is by far the best gallery app to begin with. Now once those type of features are added, then I’ll take a look at the Gallery app again.
Is there a bug in nothing gallery I can’t delete images on it and it hangs when I try to delete!?

The implementation of a light and dark theme in the Nothing gallery app is worse.
I am using the light theme
Where is the “Component health feature”? It’s an Android 15 feature!?
