Hi,
I have supported Nothing from the beginning and i like a lot about the design philosophy, but there is a problem that is driving me so crazy that I’m going to switch to another device if it doesn’t get fixed soon: Wildly inconsistent volume levels, especially between volume level 3 and 4. It makes it a pain for me to listen to anything with headphones (ear 2024), because volume level 3 is way too quiet, and volume level 4 is way too loud. And the weird thing is, when going from level 3 to 4, the volume achieves a level inbetween for a brief moment, but it is impossible to stay on that level. I know that you can disable absolute volume control in the developer settings, but that isn’t really a good solution, because then you have two separate volume levels on the headphones and the phone, which is annoying and impractical, and also the nothing ear and any other modern Bluetooth device was designed to work with absolute volume control. I think it’s just a horrible design choice or maybe even a mistake to make the volume levels so inconsistent, it just doesn’t make any sense at all. I have to go to such lengths just to listen to podcasts in the right volume for when I’m sleeping, that i use a podcast app that has a feature to adjust the volume level of every podcast manually, and i use the app only for that, even though the rest of the experience is horrible. And when i want to listen to anything else i have to set the equalizer in nothing x so that all the frequency bands are lower than normal, to reduce the volume, and that makes everything sound like crap. And it makes me almost not listen to music on my nothing ears anymore, because i either have the choice to deal with horrible eq settings or too high volume in a normal environment. The only time i listen to music now is when I’m in a loud environment. That’s just not gonna work for me for much longer. And through different community posts i know that i am not the only one with this issue. So I’m begging you, PLEASE fix this or i will have to say goodbye to Nothing for now.
