AbiNishanth Rollouts of the 3.0 OS for (2a) & (2) have started and will continue for the rest of the year. I’m sure you will get it soon enough
Nothing OS 3.0 | General Release
hrry Thank you for the update about this.
I have noticed that, the 3-buttons Navigation mode appears at the bottom of the screen while we enter the PIN in Google Pay app. Due to this, the contents at the bottom of the keypad which are the “Back” option, the number “Zero” and the “Tick” option are not displayed fully. We may end up accidently pressing the 3-buttons navigation options and it may close the app.
MurtazaYurtsev Hey mate. Stable will come, if you’re using (2) or (2a) then rollout will be between now and the new year. Keep checking for updates, it’ll be there eventually

Can the Nothing Team also mention which features it promises to roll out for Nothing Phone 2a within March 2025 ? We need features which will add utility. The Snake game is too small to be played on screen. The Gallery app looks undercooked. There was no need of a Nothing News widget. There have been no updates to the Weather app (make it visually more appealing). There is no trace of the Nothing Dialer app which many have requested and which would have been an excellent addition. The Camera still takes time to process the photo. I did say that in another post that, the UI looks like a breath of fresh air, but then the above are also very critical if any progress has to be made. I felt that, the Nothing OS 3.0 and Nothing Phone 2a look incomplete.
OldNeumann You have right me too don t work in Greece dot font
First off, I love the smooth and minimal experience of Nothing OS 3.0. It feels polished, but there are areas where it could improve. I’ve tried using the feedback option in the settings app, but the responses were generic instructions like restarting or updating the device. So, I decided to share my detailed thoughts here.
1. Lock Screen Customization
I wish we could adjust the size and color of the clock on the lock screen. It feels like an obvious feature to include, even if some might call it an iOS copy.
Widgets on the lock screen need a design refresh, especially large ones like the weather or pedometer. Most users just want basic info like 16°C—not a giant widget.
Special Mention: Lock screen customization is incredibly smooth, and I love it.
After finishing lock screen edits, why are we taken to the home screen instead of back to the lock screen? It’s a small annoying for me
2. Quick Settings
The quick settings look great, but…
Inconsistent Colors: Flashlight uses red, but everything else uses white in dark mode and white in white mode. Why not use red for all light-related toggles like Glyph or Glyph Torch? The red stands out nicely.
Two-Swipe Setup: Accessing certain quick settings requires multiple swipes, one swipe for bringing and one for enlarging and a vertical of I set the quick settings in the second page . Simplifying this process would be a big improvement.
Music Player Design: The music player on the first swipe looks unbalanced and lacks symmetry.
My Suggestion: Separate notifications and quick settings. Use transparency for notifications (since they’re temporary) and solid colors for quick settings (as they’re more permanent). This might not align with the current design aesthetic, but it’s worth considering.
Brightness Slider: A smaller, horizontal brightness slider—(same size like the silent-vibration - sound on) —would be better for users with smaller hands. Additionally, the slider’s current behavior is inconvenient: touching anywhere adjusts brightness directly. Swiping-only controls brightness (like iOS or HyperOS) is better . Also add volume control to quick settings I don’t want click every time the side buttons.
Bugs and Issues
Here are some lags and inconsistencies I’ve noticed:
Camera Lag: The camera app lags briefly when opened but becomes smooth after a few seconds.
Haptic Motor: Haptic feedback is inconsistent across apps and OS , especially in Instagram, where it feels flat and loses its precise feel.
Notification Lag: When a notification arrives while opening quick settings, it can lag or stutter.
Recent Apps: Horizontal mode in the recent apps menu lags, especially with games or when switching to pop-up view.
Swipe Gestures: The “swipe to switch apps” feature often lags and sometimes brings me back to the most last app on recent app list.
First of all am not a nothing ear product user.
Before the NOS 3.0 if I connect my tws to my phone I can see the picture of my tws on that big square blutooth tile on quick settings. Now it’s just a . I know the developers removed it and now it’s only works to nothing ear products… but I hope they will bring it back.
Really think that network issue is major after updating. It’s showing jio 45 ? It’s 5G sim. Facing drop in network speed to 0kb , slower internet, after updating and also compared on other phone it’s working all fine at my one Plus.
Also the clock font isn’t too big ? On lockscreen.
Gallery is still taking too much time to load the images .
IS CAMERA got downgraded? I feel less colour visibility and more of blury image ?

Hi rob iam using np2a I have recently facing the problem glyph light is not working during notification recived time otherwise normally working to incoming calls and volume indicator and all three lights are working properly without any problem I think it is a bug so pls rectify my comment as soon as possible
After the update of nothing os 3.0 i have noted some issues.
- Network cannot be changed between sim during call
- Cannot able to decrease the audio only on the video we are looking during a call.If we decrease the video or reels audio the voice call audio also getting decreased
- Night mode pictures was so dumb, nothing gets captured now. Before update it was better.
Do anyone facing the same
Date widget doesnt get updated the first time the phone in unlocked. Anyone else noticed this issue?
After the update, I have noticed that sometimes the VoLTE and VoNR icons do not appear for a few seconds, during which time my phone’s network is not working, and I am unable to make or receive calls

Add a feature of customizing call backgrounds later and adding different fonts
Does anyone know when it’ll be out on the UK and what you do if you’re on the beta? Will it just write over it?
So, after using OS 3 on my NP2 phone I can really see 2 areas where it needs an update.
- Font size is way to big. If you compare OS 2.6 to OS 3 the text and fonts is much bigger on OS 3, needed to be resized a bit. It looks really lame now, almost like your using a 720P screen.
- The always on display clock. On OS 2.6 is was in the middle of the screen which was great. Now its all the way to the top, just like Apple IOS. Much better in the middle, or make an option to position it where you’d like.
That is all, carry on :-)
bazsellers hey mate. Not sure but rollout for (2) and (2a) will continue throughout the rest of the year. If you’re on the beta, you’ll get the stable update and can move from there!
Thanks guys for the extraordinary efforts it was a hell of updates
Just wanna suggest something, as it would be great if u considered the below as well:
- Transparency of everything (Notifications panel, App drawer, Folder view, etc..)
- Many and tiny dots would be better.
- Add Nothing system apps rather than Google’s (Phone, Clock, Calc, Contacts, etc..) just like the Gallery.
I miss my old clock
Review of the New OS Update on Nothing Phone 2:
The latest OS update for the Nothing Phone 2 brings several welcome refinements and new features, enhancing the overall user experience. However, one noticeable issue stands out: the inconsistency in the battery level display of connected earbuds.
When using the widget for the earbuds on the home screen, the charging level of each earbud is displayed accurately, which is a handy and much-appreciated feature. However, the quick settings panel tells a different story, showing a different battery level for the earbuds.
This discrepancy creates confusion for users who rely on the quick settings for a quick glance at their earbuds’ battery status. While the widget appears to work perfectly, the inconsistency in the quick settings panel undermines the otherwise polished experience.
Pros of the Update:
Accurate battery information in the earbuds widget.
General system improvements and new features.
Cons:
Confusing battery level display in the quick settings panel.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Nothing should address this issue in an upcoming patch to ensure consistent battery level displays across all interfaces. Until then, users may find it inconvenient to rely solely on the widget for accurate information.
Overall, the update is promising, but small bugs like these slightly detract from the otherwise smooth experience.

While i was waiting for the android 15 update, this quick settings layout kinda bummed me out. not the GUI , but the mere placement, its different a lot than advertised. Also the resizing isn’t smooth at all. Notice the black bars on both left and right side of the quick settings tiles. thats what i am talking about
If its a stable release please look into it. Glitches can happen. I restarted my phone twice after installing the update as well.
For those who are in a hurry to update 3.0, I suggest wait a bit more. I felt sorry after updating to 3.0 and wishes to stay in 2.6 until 3.0 becomes mandatory. I encounter 1 bug and it annoys me verily since I have to lock and unlock my phone to escape it. I contacted support and all they told me was to screen record if it occurs again. How the hell am I supposed to record if my home screen crashes? I can’t even tap an app, let alone open the control panels where the screen record is located
They should have delayed the update release, or not call it STABLE. Can I roll back to 2.6?
christo_reese Absolutely right. I also think that they should have taken more time. I have the beta on the NP2a Plus and luckily there are only small errors. I hope that nothing improves it soon.
Yes noticed it yesterday when I paired my Sony headphones. I wish that we get the icons back by the time phone (1) gets stable update
Hi!
I Usually was happy about the releases, but Sadly, updated to nothing OS 3.0. The Bluetooth only works, after restarting phone. Then in the evening Nothing phone 2 doesnt connect to
Garmin Venu 3
BMW Audio
JBL headphones
Sony headphones
like, it can work for a day flawlessly, but then, suddenly you see Venu 3 is disconnected.. try to connect to the device, and it is not connecting. Then go to the car, and it is not also connecting. Then after restarting phone it will connect as expected.
What i should do? How can to fix? do i need to wait for a patch?
*i have another phone 2 and it has the same issues
Seems i am not the only one due to reddit post:
Hi Rob!
I am one of your huge fan of products, I first bought your cmf buds and got in love with it at how affordable rate the sound quality was good with such features. So I bought nothing phone 2a recently by seeing reviews that the battery of the phone is good and it lasts upto 8 to 9 hours sot. But, my phone didn’t even lasted for 5 hours sot, I have also taken it to service centre they have also replaced the battery, but now also there is not a significant improvements in the battery drainage.
After updated stable OS 3.0, most of the times dynamic and high refresh rate running like 60hz. After rebooting multiple times there is no solution. Don’t know what to do. So disturbing while using.
After OS 3 whenever i toggle wifi on or off either by lockscreen widget of in the quick menu there is a slight delay in the button turing red or white. It changes the color after a second but for a second it gives a sensation of doubt that did i click at the right place ? ( I am a user who toggles the wifi server times)
I didn’t receive 3.0 yet in my nothing 2a plus
Hi, I just tried this multiple times on my NP2 but can’t really recreate this issue. When the screen is unlocked and I pull down the quick settings, toggling wifi on/off is virtually instant and the animation is showing it. When doing the same while the screen is locked, there is a slightly longer delay, maybe a fraction of a second.
