Nothing’s own Suite of Apps
Google also offer a free editing app - it’s called Snapseed (no, I don’t why they called it that). It may offer some of the editing functions people are looking for.
It is necessary to have a native gallery app by nothing itself

- MIUI gallery is beautiful? Seriously, you bought Nothing and enter Nothing community and say MIUI gallery is beautiful and when I disgreed, you said I’m saying nonsense? Really?
- Over a month ago, Carl Pei already confirmed gallery coming and yet here you are still asking the same thing again and again, don’t that sound nonsense?
Joe King I agree that it gives the pure Android experience but for me, I bought the nothing phone for the nothing OS experience. I got it for the minimal home, widgets, icons.
I could have bought pixel or Motorola for stock Google experience but I liked the nothing one.
I really appreciate that you guys have developed N dialer and are working on the apps so that we can have an option. I never say remove the Google apps but if we get the nothing apps, I’ll definitely use it over Google.
I actually want to get nothing default apps so that I can enjoy the nothing experience for some apps which I use daily like gallery, file manager and dialer.
Shubh Yes like wise I’m with you if Nothing did standalone apps this would give the Nothing Phone users and Android user a wider choice. There’s are plenty of good apps on the market but the whole experience with Nothing stock OS over much heavier bloated Android skinned OS is by far a better experience I believe. I think it won’t be to long before Nothing gives a vast range of apps to the market as there’s a demand for it. It’s all about choice and thanks for the support on our app.
There a good few things I would like to see changed in NOS but they are the default operation of the Google OS and not Nothing, here’s just one example the access from within the lockscreen where there access to various setting, huge security risk but thats how Google set up.
People like us that’s developing apps be it for Nothing device or just in general know there’s a demand some like it some don’t but having choice is key.
We need own Nothing brand Gallery, Music,File Manager apps….
Ali Fakhruddin Please don’t making it like google files. One issue i face with google files is, when i copy a media from one location to another location which already contains that same media, it just paste it without showing me “This media already exist”. So it will consume extra storage for no reason. I was a former huawei user and the file manager in huawei is awesome. It even shows the thumbnail of the two medias because names can be same. It was like windows file explorer. Can you discuss that please?
I don’t have a nothing phone, but my current phone doesn’t have a default gallery or decent file manager, so I had to look for some too.
For the gallery, I use Aves. I love it, it’s good, it’s open source, it’s modern and it works!
As for the file manager, the one that has worked best for me has been Fossify file manager.
Vishnudas_N_D It will be very different from what we have currently in the markets.

I mean it’s abt time that they implement a nothing gallery app on the nothing os with ai. I’m tired of using google photos with giving us very bad experience. Nothing team pls look into thiss……..
Nothing is still small and is currently building up a bit. Some users should bring a little time and patience. Everyone started small. Patience is half the battle

- Nothing Gallery app
- Nothing Sms app.
- Nothing dialer with Nothing theme based UI
- Nothing community app
- Nothing Sms with minimalistic approach
- Nothing file manager
I do like the stock Android approach but Google is not doing a great job with respect to gallery for sure. Google photos app and Google Gallery app really doesn’t suit the needs for preview. This needs immediate attention as day to day it’s difficult to use with this stock Android apps alone.
Cons for Google photos - Only can be considered for backup as at times we are not sure which is synced photo and utilising it as a gallery app is not a piece of cake.
Cons for Google photos - At times some photos disappear or doesn’t appear. Always the photos gets displayed with wrong sorting.
For now Aves gallery app is saving lives but still Nothing needs to do some quick action to sort this and also for file manager.
