Oh I see, thx for the info. So I think they are gonna keep that for themself 🙁

  1. I want to know whether the Nothing team is aware of the Inconsistent performance of the camera. if yes, what are the measures they have taken?
  2. Last year when @RohitPakalapati was there, we raised concerns regarding support for cmf watch pro 1. But there were no improvements made till date
  3. And there are so much bugs in the OS 3.0 and also the features they showed in Nothing OS 3.0 video are not yet fully released. Why should they hurry and release the OS half baked?

Thx for asking, not sure this has been done previously, can consider pitching an idea to showcase Nothing’s work process behind a software update, e.g.

  • how does the team decide on which bug/problem to focus on, i.e. is there a decision matrix used?
  • how is the update tested prior to release?
  • is there already a rough roadmap of what features to add in the next few updates?
  • how does the software update process affect decision-making for future new models? e.g. software team tries hard to improve camera software, but there is a limit to what software can do, leading to decision making to use a larger camera sensor for future models

personally think this will help fans understand the difficulties of a software update, that not all bugs can be solved at the same time, etc.

Phone 2 users have been raising this issue ever since the phone is out. Please improve the CAMERA. The performance is inconsistent.

I wanted to ask if an exchange bonus program could be introduced for the upcoming Phone (3) series. Programs like these, similar to what brands like OnePlus offer, are incredibly helpful for loyal users. They provide great value for those looking to upgrade while ensuring that older devices retain their worth.

It would be great to reward the loyal user base in this way, making the transition to new devices smoother and more accessible. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this!

Phone 2 user since the beginning. Here are my points which you can raise if found worthy to be noted;

  1. Gaming performance. Can’t play efootball on high graphics as device overheats and starts dropping frames. It was great right upto 2.5.3 but after 2.5.5 performance dipped while playing that particular game.
  2. No official case or screen protector no longer available on Flipkart since a very long period.
  3. Except airpods no tws icon visible on bluetooth settings tile after NOS 3.
  4. Dolby Atmos is not available. Can it be fixed via update. I doubt so.

Hey @adbo, I wanted to share that the Nothing OS 3.0 was awesome, an enhanced and optimized version of the Nothing’s own OS, I loved it, And appreciate the team to release the update to all the device in the short period.

I have some concerns and guess most the users have that the Pitch Black (or Amoled Black) theme should be there, it enhances the look and align with nothing own app as well as the setup of NOS, and the Private Space that Carl asked about prior to announcement of NOS 3.0 was not in the General Release, so what happened with that?

And lastly what more we can expect from future NOS updates as it’s getting more exciting with each major release, some teases will be awesome. Specially, Thanks to the Nothing team for delivering this Awesome Update ❤️.

My concerns over Nothing Phone 2a

Nothing phone 2a display issues

Phone 2a charging inconsistency issues

Phone 2a battery back up issues

I am sure that you won’t be addressing these things for sure 😅

TanmaySambrekar 2-5 is not 3, and I think that the exact release date is not that significant when launching a product that people can buy at any other day. If they launch it the 29th instead of the 30th it won’t matter. for example I don’t even know when the 2a came out, I waited for some reviews and after a few months I bought it so if it came out 1-2 days earlier or later it didn’t matter

Mirko_ddd I hear you, Mirko, and I agree that the process of creating community widgets is quite closed at the moment. However, I think that’s mainly because of quality control, and it’s still in its early stages. There are many factors to consider when deciding which widgets to include. We want to avoid overlapping with current widgets or upcoming ones from the main team, and there are also safety concerns when collaborating with people outside the company on a product that appears on many users’ home screens.

That said, as far as I know, this project will become more open in the near future (though still with some constraints), allowing more people to be part of it. and I’m excited about that future!

Rahul don’t get me wrong, the major complaint is about the fact that the API is closed. If people don’t have the chance to make there’s also no chance that they make good or bad. Opening the API would allow devs to extend their own apps to integrate seamlessly to nothing design language in terms of widgets.

Mirko_ddd I agree with that! I would love to hear the reasoning behind it if the team has already thoughts about it and decided not to.

adbo Hey Adbo. First of all congratulations for being elected as Community Board Observer. Now I am enjoying using my Phone (2) and its great but I feel their Glyph API support could be better. I am making an app which uses glyphs and for API I have submitted form requesting API Key via google form. And after submitting the form they mentioned I would get reply within 5 working days. But its been 2-2.5 weeks but still no reply from them. And last time I requested using form and there also it showed within 5 working days. This I requested without starting the app and for that also they took around 4-5 weeks even tho they mentioned within 5 working days. And this time I have a part completed and sent all the videos and photos evidence. I know they have tons of work to do. But then in google form why not say approximate timeframe to get reply and reply in that timeframe. In this they mention 5 days but they take weeks

        Thanks in advance

Just to let people know what the direction is - I was warned for calling out AI as the wrong direction. I guess we can expect the focus to be on that instead of the everyday usability.

The camera is currently the weakest link of the Nothing Phone. I know Nothing is aware of this and actively working to improve it. In the meantime, while working on enhancing camera processing, it would be great if Nothing could provide enough tools and features that give users more control over how the camera processes images and videos. This would help users take photos and videos closer to their expectations.

        Suggestions include:

        • Expert mode for videos

        • Better exposure control in regular mode

        • Photography styles, similar to those on iPhones, would be a great addition

Additionally, it would be amazing to see resources and guidelines to support the community in working on their projects.

        Wassup adam,

I’ve heard a lot of feedback about the software, but one thing that seems to bug people the most is the lack of native apps like a dialer and messages. I know there’s one in the works, but could it be any faster?

        • (Edited)

After 7 months with my 2a i can tell you that:

        Pros:

        • System stability -works cpretty clear
        • Battery life - great screen times i ending the days with 40% usually
        • Widgets - delicies
        • Screen - big and good quality and refresh rate

        Cons:

        • Camera - sometimes the photos isn’t sharp

        • Charging speeds - could be faster

To developing team - keep doing simple system design.

        Need more wallpapers and ringtones.

          Vigolias

It matters bro, because this is the product where people are gone to take intrest very much ! I am telling the launch event not for sell day . People will see the launch day as the date is related to it ! As 30th is Sunday many people will watch on YouTube of release of Nothing Phone 3 !

adbo Hey I am from India. In India, most of the internet providers give daily limit to our internet data. But in nothing phone, there is no option to see daily usage data. In other phones we can see this option. before using nothing phone I used Redmi. Redmi have this option and its very helpful to know our daily data usage. can you rise this issue in the upcoming board meeting. we want this feature as soon as possible.
          Thank you for your time
