I’ll be honest about this with no bias. I’m forced to write about the issues on the forum as I’ve exhausted myself with on device feedback multiple times.I own nothing phone (1)and (2a). My Phone 1 had its own problems but overall I liked using it. My Phone 2a too was amazing till 2.6 update. I would ignore those issues which seemed not too much of an issue with my everyday use but ever since the 3.0 update on my 2a, it’s been hell.
The network issue which should work automatically between 5G and 4G is broken after 3.0. If I set my data and voice to 5G/VoNR preferentially, the cell signal is missing most of the time, not switching to 4G automatically.
Second, even if it shows 4G or even 5G, I miss so many calls from my work and family, with the caller claiming my phone was either out of reach or busy. It’s causing me so much trouble that I wrote a feedback in detail. And the apparent solution that maybe the cell signal is itself missing is wrong. I have my phone 1, OnePlus 13R, and they never lose the 5G signal, even for a bit, on the same network.
But it seems like nothing is only focused on New launches, and really doesn’t care about the old phones. The updates may be frequent, but don’t address the issues and they keep persisting. An illusion of high quality consumer support.
Sometimes, I have to manually select a cell signal to get on 5G and occasionally I have to use the dialer (*#*#4636#*#*) to manually select 5G. This issue never occured before 2.6.
Horrible experience recently. The forums are full of issues, and for a second I’d excuse the less than essential feature issues but a lack of good network support cannot be ignored. For now this probably is my last nothing product, being impressed with ear 2, but not enough to compensate for being a mediocre phone company with literal gaps in the software, for they may have cool widgets and a great design, but essentially not a phone, without its network features.
