Nothing OS for Laptops - Idea

Who else is bored with Apple, but doesn’t want to leave the ecosystem, continuity features etc etc.

I’m a software guy who tinkers with hardware. Keep thinking of building a Linux variant which plays nicely with a custom Android build. Obviously don’t have time to do that though. Need to earn some money sometimes!

It’d be amazing if Nothing went there, I’d love to be involved if they did. No need to build laptops initially obviously. Google / Microsoft could do it, but for whatever reason only Apple want to do it. Boring.

Bonus points for all the networking being distributed / peer to peer. Using the power of desktop GPU from a phone, transparently. That would rely on some next level data syncing though. Apps being installed to your account and then accessible from any device. Maybe the device runs the UI / logic, maybe it runs the logic on something with more grunt. Loads of edge cases to worry about doing that.

Rant over, just curious if people think I’m mad or want something like that too.

I have liked nothing as a company and the product that they have built for a while now and have daily driving a nothing ear A for the past 3 months now and they are awesome.

what if nothing built a nothing OS for laptops, unlike every company that tries to build there own laptops and just uses windows what if nothing let you use your old but still functioning laptop to use there OS

WHY SHOULD NOTHING DO THIS

while nothing has not shared any plans of building a laptop yet, laptops of all kinds are available already, there are countless brands that all focus on a different kind of laptop and computer but besides apple, they all come with windows standard. windows over that the last couple of years (in my opinion) feels a little clunky now, the UI is very annoying to use in some cases like when I use the search function and it automatically takes you to Bing (I don’t know if you can change this). It also feels not a pleasant to use as other Os’s. while mac has its problems I am drawn to its UI design because it looks awesome, like for example the docker is a nice clear and I find the animations quite smooth, but as we know, if you want to use mac OS you have to own a mac.

while I am no expert in the OS market I feel there is a opening rig now and if you merge the best parts of Linux/windows/mac OS and add the signature touches of nothing OS to the UI I think that you have a very promising product.
