Currently, the Nothing Phone 1 does not require a password or any form of authentication to power off the device. This poses a risk in situations where the phone is lost or stolen, as the person who finds or steals the phone can easily turn it off, rendering any tracking or remote access features useless.

I believe it would greatly enhance the security of the device if Nothing could implement a feature that requires a password to power off the phone. This would prevent unauthorized shutdowns and increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone.

I want please help kindly saw the problem thats very very much helpful to use Nothing phone

Is it possible for the device to hide it’s power button icon or ask for password when the user presses it before shutting down the device .??

Kindly add “Require Password to Power Off” on the privacy option that will enhance the safety during theft and will pave way to track it and find it. Pls do add this for the safety measure during loss of phone.

Please don’t

I mean… to power-off, YES, to force restart, NO
2 days ago my NP2 screen became totally unresponsive to touch commands, so I had to force restart it using the power button press for 10 sec.
If it had requested a Password I wouldn’t be able to enter it because the screen was unresponsive.

Yes please add this feature findy device and everything is useless if this option is not there.

Thief will just turn off the phone and it will be useless

This is very common and must need feature

AAS_1981 yes that’s true but during theft when the phone is off, there’s no way of tracking it. Hope, nothing team will sort out this along with your problem of non responsive touch command.

Please add password for switching off the device.

Yeah, We need this feature asap in the upcoming updates! It is a security concern for the users. A simple setting can be very useful for retrieving your mobile during theft.

Before switching off, i feel the UI should ask for the password or pattern. This would help prevent theft if someone gets their phone stolen.
