We hosted an incredible community event in Bangalore in collaboration with Snapdragon, to celebrate the beginning of our partnership for the upcoming Phone (3a) Series.
The event kicked off with an exciting activity where community members were asked to build their dream smartphone within a set budget. Teams of five were given 100 Nothing credits, a list of components with their prices, and an empty smartphone shell with placeholders for parts like the display, processor, and battery. Each team had to carefully choose the best combination of components to create their ideal smartphone. It was fantastic to see everyone fully engaged, with some teams focusing on a well-rounded device while others focused on creating a camera powerhouse.
We were also joined by special guests @Akis (Co-Founder, Nothing) and Saurabh (Head of Mobile, Compute and XR Business, Qualcomm), who reviewed some of the community-built smartphones and shared their thoughts. As part of kicking off the partnership between Nothing and Snapdragon, Akis was presented with a Manchester United jersey featuring the Snapdragon logo. The conversation shifted to discuss why a Snapdragon chip was the perfect fit for the Phone (3a) Series, how the introduction of NPUs in Snapdragon chipsets enhances on-device AI capabilities, and how Nothing is innovating with the camera system for the Phone (3a). We also had an opportunity for the community to ask insightful questions about Snapdragon Chipsets, the community, and the Phone (3a) Series.
As a surprise, Akis unveiled the design of the Phone (3a) Series, which left the community members amazed. We also recorded the first impressions from some of our core community members about the design of the Phone (3a) Series, which you can watch here. I had the pleasure of meeting some of our amazing community members and gathering valuable feedback about our upcoming products and software. It was truly an enriching experience.
As the event concluded, everyone left feeling excited about the future of Nothing and Snapdragon.
