It still looks like a regular Google Pixel, but I think it’s much better this way.

No.
Having everything at the top of the screen is not ergonomically friendly. Developers should put buttons in the lower half of the display, where the fingerprint reader is because that’s where users’ thumbs naturally rest, then work outwards.
