currently nothingOS has a default 15 step volume control

from the next update, i wish users could customize it in range of 15-120 like Samsung Galaxy devices

whenever i’m listening to music, i can’t find the middle appropriate amount of volume loundness

especially when im listening through youtube music with my ear (2)

who else needs this?

I’d appreciate that so much. I find it super annoying that you can even hear a ‘middle step volume’ between level 3 and 4 when switching but you can’t choose that volume in the middle. 3 I find to low, 4 too loud. Using Nothing Phone (1) with soundcore earbuds.

and yet none of the developers care about user experience

Bump. This is the most annoying thing about Nothing OS = the volume controls/settings are not precise enough - surely an easy fix?!

Agreed. I recently got a Phone 2 and the 15 steps volume thing is pretty annoying. Hopefully we can get it fixed

This is a major issue that has impacted my music listening! Is it possible to fix this in software developments? I hope it is.

Not to be dramatic but this is a deal breaker

Song controls by long pressing Volume Buttons on screen off is a good feature too. And let’s not forget the incredibly large volume steps.

Totally agreed with this. Coming from OP9 pro and NP2 have two major issues camera + volume steps. I will be deaf soon if they don’t fix it.

Hi, I use very sensitive low ohm, IEM headphones, and volume control from 0-16 steps is not precise enough for me, I use 1 is too quiet but 2 is too loud, so maybe it’s good idea to add option for user to let him choose more precise volume control like 0-50 steps. Tried searching for apps that could control volume precisely but when the sound goes through them they make sound way worse.

Merged 1 post from More volume control steps.

Comming from a Pixel 7 Pro. The lowest volume setting on an Phone 2 is at least twice as loud as normal. This is a major issue, which can be solved very easliy by adjusting the volume range and steps in the next update of nothing os.

Update: I contacted nothing customer support and they told me that they have forwarded the problem to they respective team and the problem should be solved with the next update.

Let’s hope that they listen to their community and that something happens.

Love my nothing phone 1 but this is painful and the thing that makes me regrets my Samsung note 20.. I fall asleep listening to videos or podcasts and the fact that the first 3 steps are almost inaudible and useless and the fourth one is too loud annoy me every night. I even try 3 other earbuds during the past two years including nothing ear, galaxy buds pro and soundcore sleep…

Yes we really need more steps for volume controlls, the phone it’s very loud even at the first steps.

I find the lowest possible media volume to be too loud in very quiet environments and i would love to see a more precise volume slider. It can be a dropdown selection in settings>volume with different levels of dividers. For example 20 dividers would increase/decrease the volume by 5% each time. 40 dividers would do that with 2.5% increments. We should be able to set the value ourselves up to 1% precision in my opinion.
