Hey, as mentioned in my Q4 2024 Community Board Observer digest:

In relation to battery drain:

reports of battery drain have significantly reduced since OS 3.0, but they’re still collecting logs for anyone experiencing this.

There was no promise made that battery performance would be improved, as reports of battery drainage had already reduced heavily since OS 3.0, but instead I advised to contact support if you’re still experiencing battery related issues. The team are still building an accurate picture of the number of people affected after OS 3.0.

and in relation to the camera:

the focus is now on optimising upcoming devices, but Carl mentioned a new camera tuning method they’re using, which, if improvements are made, may be able to be rolled out to the current device line-up in future too

The primary focus has been on the upcoming devices, which have been revealed to the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. These devices have only just gone on general sale this week, so it’s understandable that there has been more resource put into this to ensure stability and high quality improvements at release for those that are purchasing new devices. I mentioned how there *may *be a possibility that these camera improvements could be rolled out to the current devices in future, but this will understandably take time to make compatible, if the team decide to go down that route.

Please note that the Board Observer has no authority over the software releases that Nothing provide. The CBO can relay community concerns to the board and tech teams, and refer any comments back to the community. I am still actively collating community feedback in my position as Board Observer, and have noted your concerns. If I receive a high number of these types of reports, this will enable me to feed this back to the team at the next quarterly meeting. But in the meantime, I recommend using your phone’s Settings > System > Feedback option to report any hardware or software related issues you’re experiencing directly to Nothing’s support and development teams. This is the best way to get these actioned, or to receive advice from the team.

@adbo These issues are not the new ones , we have been talking about these from long back and Nothing OS 3.0 doesn’t bring any improvements to Camera and battery they still have issues but u guys are ignoring it. We have paid money if u can’t then refund my money back. I don’t want to use your products.

Really very long and bad service… mainly camera , and secondly battery drin issue…, I was purchased 8 Gb RAM , 128 gb ROM 43000 rupees., I realised few days later N2 divice is not worth.. NO improve camera and software , I don’t like nothing products

I haven’t jumped on board with team Nothing yet, but I have had an interest in the company and their products since conception. I was very close on purchasing the 3A, but after doing research I’m seeing the support isn’t there. A simple badge icon with a count for notifications seems to have been requested by many for quite sometime and it’s still not delivered. These are small requests. Now the 3A series has been launched and the older flagship device owners aren’t relevant anymore. These midrange experimental devices are priced higher in Australia than the Samsung S24FE which is a superior device with impeccable support. I really hope Nothing starts listening and supporting their customer base.

Before Nothing OS 3.0, the camera was decent—not amazing, but usable. After the update, though, the quality dropped hard. No matter how much you tweet, DM, or email them, Nothing just doesn’t listen or fix the issues.

The worst part? Once they launch a new phone, they completely forget about the older ones, even if they were flagships.

I take a lot of photos of my cat, who has black and white fur, and the camera completely ruins it. His white fur turns into a bright, overexposed mess with no detail, and his black fur becomes so dark that it just looks like a solid black patch. No texture, no detail—just a completely ruined photo. And when taking group portraits, the camera randomly blurs out one person like they don’t even exist. Colors are off, contrast is weird, and the dynamic range is a mess.

Nothing’s camera has gone downhill, and they don’t seem to care. Phone (2) users are feeling it even worse.

I request Nothing to improve the overall video camera and photo camera. Specially video camera should be improved a lot I guess. I think Nothing phone 2 video camera can do better if optimised in software, bring more stabilization to improve video, bring capability for more autofocus, AI based video enhancements can also be bought which can double the quality of video in Nothing phone 2. I also appreciate that Nothing photo camera has improved overtime. So I hope Nothing will also be improving the overall video camera.

According to my studies on the processor of Nothing Phone 2, it is capable of supporting 8k video but we users can understand that it is not possible because on the release of Nothing Phone 2 , Nothing was just a new brand and is hard to get much hardwares as a new brand. Also Nothing Phone 2 can support cinematic mode . But there is no cinematic mode for this phone a phone with 50 MP camera with ois and eis, the already used ai hdr enhancement features can be taken in advantage for enhancements of videos. And last but not the least it has a powerful chipset Snapdragon 8 plus gen 1. We still feel the video camera is not up to the level of the given hardware. That is something to be asked isn’t it right?

I’m here with all respect. I’m a huge Nothing fan. I see Nothing in a better position. I think Nothing will take this into consideration and bring much and better video camera improvements in the upcoming updates.

I own nothing phone 2 from starting and that time I hope that they will improve camera but they made it worse and I suggest every to purchase any new device of nothing by go to store and experience it and don’t hope for any improvement nothing device are great but they are like become like Xiaomi and realme just focus on new devices for 2 months then launch new device and forgot about old device

@adbo Now comment, these many users are facing same issues and you were saying battery is improved in 3.0. kindly research down here in community post and convey these to carl or refund my money back.

adbo phone 2a has also having such issues primarily the black and green tint, other issues ..Done the thing

          System

Report feedback, all those things but no solution.

Congrats 👏🏼 nothing for successfully omitting phone 2 users (busy with new launches).

From day 1, we’ve been facing camera related issues with picture quality and inconsistent results ,also after 3.0 update battery drain is going on downhill (worst). To be in particular ,no update for past 2 months. Feeling frustrated for choosing nothing (actually you keep up to your name ‘NOTHING’). That’s what I can say. Really this will be my last nothing product.😒👎🏼

Guys Please Don’t waste your energy here. Just like name, Nothing gonna happen. Understand the fact that NP2 had turned super duper flop device for the company. So don’t expect from them that they’ll pay attention to this device. They will just focus on the other devices which have been sold more, the star device.

We all have seen that the camera & performance of NP1 was incredibly improved. Why? Only because it was sold & turned to be star device. But the same is not with NP2 they’ve overpriced it & based on NP1 improvements some of us trusted & brought NP2. But Our BAD LUCK guys that this device turned into flop one & now we can’t do anything about it sadly.

So please don’t waste your time and energy here. Because this will only make you frustrated & angry. No issues are going to resolve. Specially in aspects of camera.
