Why cameras are sooo inconsistent?

1× and 2× in 3a cameras is very inconsistent with colours

and a X user reported frustration!

“taking quick picture of a scene on the way from a car window is never possible with 3a phone. becase when you click on shutter and it takes 10 sec to process and by the time you click nect picture the scene will go away…”

so cameras are worst and worst and worst …. i Don’t think it can be fixed with just a softwarealone ?

I think the cameras are def. the weak point. Grabbing Gcam has improved things significantly for me, so there is hope that software can fix some of it.

I think part of the problem is nothing themselves were comparing these cameras to iPhone cameras, which clearly was very misleading. I am hoping on future releases they don’t do things like this. They just set expectations very high for their customers.

I never thought the cameras would compete on the highest levels considering the price of these phones. So I am ok using Gcam and hoping for some updates to software to fix some of the issues.

I think if people are looking for camera experiences on par with $1000+ phones they will probably be disappointed.

10 seconds to process a photo? That’s not true… I can take back to back photos with no lag

Hey Nothing Community,I’m running into a frustrating issue with my Nothing Phone 3a camera when using 5x and 10x zoom. In the viewfinder, the image looks bright and clear (like in the 1st pic I’ve attached), but after capturing at 5x or 10x zoom, the photo turns out much darker (as shown in the 2nd pic). For comparison, the 3rd pic is how the photo looks before using 5x zoom, which is much closer to what I’d expect. The problem seems to happen during post-processing after the shot is taken. When I try to edit the darker photos to adjust brightness or exposure, the details are completely lost, and I can’t recover the image quality. I’d love for my 5x and 10x zoom photos to look more like the viewfinder preview (1st pic) or at least like the pre-zoom quality (3rd pic).Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be a bug, or is there a setting I might be missing to fix this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks![Attached: 3 images - Viewfinder preview, 5x/10x zoom result, and pre-zoom photo

Derren changed the title to Phone (3a) Camera Feedback .

ursmdasif Hey mate, I’d certainly document this via settings > system > feedback and get your feedback in front of the Nothing team. They use this feedback to inform future updates so, worth documenting there too.

Here we have another issue with the 2x Telephoto camera color shifting. It is a problem for me and i hope nothing eye on it .

insanepotato I used this version BSG Gcam port: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bsg/

It is not perfect but worked pretty well. I keep going back and forth between nothings camera and Gcam.

Check it out and see if you like it. There are other ports that work on nothing, but I found this one the easiest to setup and get going.

Obviously when using external APKs and things to proceed with caution. I found no issues with this link but please you can never be too careful!

Being a long time Nothing supporter and a phone (2a) owner for an year. I came to the phone (3a) pro with really good vibes. And so far this phone has surprised me in all aspects, it just feels more buttery than the (2a) and the gorgeous zoom lens justifies its price point.

Wasn’t really expecting 4k from the periscope lens but come on guys, seriously what kinda torture is the idea of having no 1080p 60fps on the periscope lens.

Please for the love of God, having such gorgeous hardware and software, is there any chance of receiving this much desired recording mode via OTA updates? Please nothing people look into this matter! We want some sick 60fps shots on the periscope lens regardless of how shaky it gets! Put that snapdragon to use, we beg you nothing people! 😢

p.s tried the balckmagic app to record 1080p 60fps and the Mr. Periscope throws a fit and can’t even focus properly!
