Phone (3a) - Camera feedback
- (Edited)
Just wanted to share the experience with front cam while clicking selfies…i noticed that shutter speed is slow but somewhere i feel like maybe it is from the software side the entire camera app feels a little slow like it just doesn’t feel that smooth whenever I am using it. Just hoping it will be rectified in coming updates
KunalMore_Ag6GNC5wio Hey mate. Sorry to hear this. Have you tried any troubleshooting? For example
- Settings > apps > Nothing Camera
- Clear data/cache
- Force stop
- Reboot device
If problems continue I would:
- Log feedback via settings > system > feedback

After the newest update (3.1) photos taken of the moon are clearly fake. I understand how the AI algorithm is supposed to work but this is so excessive it literally changes the moon that your phone’s camera sees to something completely different. I will add a video proving that and two different pictures of the same moon ( one taken during the day and one at night)
there spears to be no way to use the 50mp option on the 3a when in expert mode, why is this? shouldn’t expert mode allow you to use a higher resolution?
samthemingo Hey mate, not sure personally but, if you’d like to see this changed in the future, you can log feedback via settings > system > feedback. This way Nothing are notified of your feedback and, may address it in future updates or hardware iterations.

When you get time for Give a Supported Of HEIC?
Image and Video its 2025 in nothing phone always nothing only..!!!
The main camera flash doesn’t have an auto mode options…!
Also smooth ZOOM and smooth transition between cameras. “Live Photo” which will not turn off after each re-entry into the application. Autofocus and auto exposure need to be slightly adjusted.
I just purchased the 3a and I took photos using the primary and selfie cameras with the default settings with the default firmware (with the December 2024 patch). I then updated to the latest firmware (with the February 2025 patch) and took the photos again to compare.
I found that selfies taken before and after the update were excellent in terms of clarity, though the reference in the changelog to reducing red tint appears to have stripped too much red. It’s not terrible though.
However, when it comes to the rear camera, photos had realistic colours prior to the update, but became overly saturated following the update. Some of us want realistic colours by default. If we want overly saturated colours, we’d change the settings manually.
I also think that photos from the rear camera are too HDR-ish, both before and after the update.
While I think the selfie camera is really good, the rear camera needs tweaking to get it up to standard, and unfortunately, the recent update is a step backwards in terms of colours.
Photos of flowers are easy. Try taking photos of relatives and pets. Skin and fur colours are way off, even with HDR disabled. It’s a shame, as the selfies are great.
Like I said, when you take photos of things that are familiar to you, like people or pets, you realise that colours aren’t true to life. No-one is going to argue that the moon isn’t that grey in real life.

Remember that popular song from ~ 15 years ago? LOL As a photography every new watch and gadget I know gets the initial tabletop photography treatment…love the looks of this 3a! I was impressed with the easy copy from my Sony phone…Also, I have been using the Nova Launcher PHOEVA so, I was happy I could still replicate my setup from the Sony to this 3a.
So happy to support a microbrand watch developer….I absolutely despise how the big guys are not innovating their phones, only overcharging for some over pumped up camera.
This is super high res so zooooooom in!
