Just got my phone 3a and tried activating it with a SIM card at my local ATT store and they could not do it.

Has anyone been able to activate theirs with ATT? If so, how?

Derren changed the title to Unable to activate SIM in the US | Phone (3a) .

According to perplexity.ai …..

While the Nothing Phone 3a is not officially supported by AT&T in the USA, there is a workaround to activate a SIM card for this device. The main issue is that AT&T’s system does not recognize the Nothing Phone 3a as a compatible device

However, users can bypass this restriction by following these steps:

  1. Purchase an AT&T SIM card (prepaid or postpaid) from AT&T’s website or a store.

  2. Instead of activating in-store, use AT&T’s online activation process.

  3. When prompted, enter the SIM card number as usual.

  4. For the IMEI number, use one from a different unlocked US phone (e.g., a Google Pixel or Samsung device) instead of the Nothing Phone 3a’s IMEI

  5. Complete the payment and plan selection process.

  6. Insert the activated SIM into the Nothing Phone 3a and restart the device.

After following these steps, users have reported successful activation and service on AT&T’s network, including 5G connectivity

.

It’s important to note that this method, while effective, involves providing incorrect device information to AT&T’s system. Users should be aware that this approach may have potential implications for customer support or future service issues.

The Nothing Phone 3a is compatible with AT&T’s network bands:

  • LTE Bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 17, 48, 66

  • 5G Bands: 2, 5, 66, 77

This compatibility ensures that the device can function on AT&T’s network once activated, despite the initial activation hurdle.
