Screen Refresh Rate - Help

I noticed that in most apps, my phone just sets the display refresh rate on 60hz even if it's set on 120hz in the settings. I've noticed that dynamic display mode slightly fixes the problem but it's still on 60hz, and the 120hz option lags at moving objects on the screen, like whys that? This is so annoying and makes me regret buying this phone. I hope nothing fixes this. My previous phone Samsung A52s didn't used to do that at all.

DaviBarbero 🇮🇹 Don’t just blindly support the company bro.

It is not to make things smoother, then they didn’t had to go with LTPS display. They are lazy to fix this issue. Because it needs soo much effort and time, they have look into many scenarios to make it work smoothly in variable refresh rate.

They are lazy to do that work, by that company wins, consumer is the one who losses. We should be getting more battery life from that variable refresh rate.

I am very mad about this is because, this issue are for years

Just because I don’t get mad and start whining before even try to understand if there is a deeper meaning to things doesn’t mean that I am blindly supporting anything

I work as a software engineer, we do so many updates and optimizations like these.

The-1 I actually don’t remember reading anywhere online of phone 1 battery life getting worse after an update or VRR being broken after an update, I guess that it would have come out on news pages

I started using nothing with phone (3), so I don’t know the full story of phone (1) up close…

What if it could be due to partial refresh? I remember reading online that snap 8s gen 4 is capable of refreshing only the screen portions that change (applied on games only? Genuinely don’t know if it is across the interface). Could be the report metric broken? I am hardware engineer I don’t know too deep about software

DaviBarbero 🇮🇹 There wasn’t a sudden battery drain increase after a update bro. That is because, there was only option for dynamic refresh rate but it didn’t dynamically refreshed. So we there was no sudden battery life change. The draining from the more refresh rate is already there from starting.

I haven’t heard about refreshing only the portions. I don’t think that is possible

DaviBarbero 🇮🇹 broo .. Phone 1 had the dynamic refresh rate feature in settings, but it wasn’t working as they say. And then the settings got removed. Probably they don’t want everyone to talk about that the feature is not working.

At that point just slowly and silently remove it in all of them XD
