So I’d like to begin by expressing how much of a supporter I am of the Nothing Phone lineup and especially it’s use in the United States. I am even writing this post on a Phone 2a Plus in the States. But I bought the Watch Pro 2 to run not because I wanted a budget option but I wanted to try Nothings latest watch. I’ve used it for a while now and a few things stuck out. The design is pretty good although it could use a NATO band. The battery life was pretty good and it had some nice watch faces. But when it came down to the real stuff and not the “fluff” surrounding the watch, it did underperform. First, it doesn’t support third party apps so I can’t record to my running groups/team. And then it also started workouts with a button on the touchscreen and not the physical crown meaning I couldn’t use it during races. And now it won’t power on after trying it on every outlet in my house with a charger that was working last week. Again, I love Nothing’s idea, and I’ve overall enjoyed the Phone 2a Plus because it has a great camera, and behind the “fluff” and gimmicks, it performs. But the Watch Pro 2 didn’t and for that reason I am scrapping it and moving to a Polar or COROS watch. I just wanted to make this post for any future buyers of the watch, and to Devs for insight. If the main Nothing brand made a well designed, interesting, fairly priced, and quite functional watch in the future, I’d be open to trying it. They did it with their phones and can do it again.

(Side note) I went to Brazil to visit family and go for a bit of an adventure and learned Nothing Phones or at least the 2a Plus don’t work on Brazil’s cellular infrastructure so I could only use WiFi.

Thanks for reading this far and I am not angry just disappointed with Nothing’s performance. I look forward to improvement in the future!

Sincerely,

An enthusiastic Nothing User from across the pond in the States
