Have the same question. It is quite strange to restrict usage of sim and esim at the same time, basically it makes my experience less comfortable. Hope this is a temporary soft restriction, not a permanent hardware block

Looking at the picture it seems like you are trying to enable two e-sims, not sure what is happening there.
I can however tell from experience that you can one physical sim in slot 1 and a essim together. A physical sim in slot 2 can’t be combined with an esim. Hope this helps

Where can I read al the restrictions for esim usage? Like how many esim cards may I have (active/inactive)? It seems this model have some restrictions, like I can’t use esim and sim at the same time

Merged 1 post from Nothing 3a Pro esim support.

QAmongus Hey, I’ve moved your newly created discussion here to keep things organised and make it easier for community members to find.

Got it! Waiting for someone to explain what are the limits of Nothing 3a Pro for esim

QAmongus Don’t pin me on this, but as far is i know it’s two sims active, which can be two physical sims, or one physical sim in slot 1 and one esim. You can only have one esim active, but you can store at least two (didn’t have more to test with.)

I am asking it because of the last case you mentioned: I don’t know should I call my carrier to buy second esim instead of ordinary sim, or I just will got unusable card in case of the second esim. Additionally I don’t understand how it is possible for you to use 1 sim and 1 esim at the same time. My phone (bought in EU, Hungary) is telling me that I can’t use physical sim while using esim, so it is just turning off my sim each time I am turning on esim

Thats why I want some kind of response from the Nothing guys. This is kinda frustrating to get surprised by unusual limitations without comprehending spec about esim from the manufacturer

You are 100% right, it has helped. Thank you!
Still waiting for esim limitations info from Nothing guys to not experiment with my money and sim/esim cards

From my experience with different Android devices that support eSIM, one cannot have more than 2 networks active at any point. It is up to 2 networks active.

Some devices support either up to 2 eSIMs or up to 2 physical SIMs or 1 eSIM and 1 physical one.

Other devices support either 2 physical SIMs or 1 physical and 1 eSIM. It looks like the Nothing Phone 3a Pro belongs to this category. If you have an eSIM activated then it always uses the 2nd slot for me so I have to put the physical SIM to the 1st slot.

            Hopefully, that makes some sense

Hy! I need a little help. There are 2 sim cards in the phone. (3aPro). But for some reason, the 2nd SIM card is lost and cannot be seen. After reboot everything is fine for a while. What could this be? And one more related thing. I set it to always ask which SIM I want to call from when making a call, but it always forgets and associates it with SIM1. Do you have an idea for a solution? Thanks!
