1. Check Network Signal Strength
Ensure the user is in an area with good network coverage. Poor signal strength can cause call drops.
Suggest checking the signal bars on their phone and moving to a location with a stronger signal if necessary.
2. Restart the Phone
Ask the user to restart their phone to refresh the network connection and clear any temporary issues that might be affecting call quality.
3. Toggle Airplane Mode
Suggest toggling Airplane Mode on and off. This can help reset network connections:
Swipe down from the top of the screen to access Quick Settings.
Enable Airplane Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then disable it.
4. Update Carrier Settings
Ask if the phone has the latest carrier settings update. These settings improve network performance and connectivity:
Go to Settings > About phone > Carrier settings.
If an update is available, prompt them to install it.
5. Update the Phone Software
Ensure the phone has the latest software updates as they may include fixes for network-related issues:
Go to Settings > System > Software Update.
If there’s a new update, advise them to install it.
6. Check for Interference
Suggest checking if any apps or services (like VPNs, call blockers, or other network-related apps) are interfering with the call quality.
Temporarily disable or uninstall suspicious apps to see if it resolves the issue.
7. Test with a Different SIM Card
Ask the user to try using a different SIM card (if possible) to determine if the issue is with the phone or the carrier network.
8. Clear the Phone’s Cache
Clearing the cache can help remove any temporary files causing the phone to behave incorrectly:
Go to Settings > Storage > Cached data.
Clear the cached data and restart the phone.
9. Reset Network Settings
Resetting the network settings will return all network configurations to default, which may resolve connection issues:
Go to Settings > System > Reset > Reset network settings.
Confirm the action and restart the phone.
10. Check for Hardware Issues
If the problem persists, there could be an issue with the phone’s antenna or hardware. Suggest visiting a service center for a diagnostic.
11. Test in Safe Mode
Booting the phone in Safe Mode will disable third-party apps that might be causing conflicts:
Power off the phone.
Turn it back on and, when the Nothing logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down button until the phone boots into Safe Mode.
Check if the call dropping issue persists in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t, the issue is likely due to a third-party app.
