Essential Notification light. why its always on like torch?

We all know human are way more sensitive to change/moving light, making the notification light a breathing light or flash periodically, or even make use of that timer animation as running light…

so with animation light it not only server the “notification” function better but I assume that would help on the battery life too.

And best we can have option to set which app/notificaiton can trigger which type of notification.

Is there any reason the essential notification just stay on since nothing phone 1?

I think it goes back to the original ideology of not being distracting, and not encouraging you to always be on your phone. Putting linking lights would just trigger you to keep looking at your phone.

that explanation is reasonable, but not very in sync with the fact that it exist and being called essential….

it may actually be their ideology, but as a user I certainly wanted it to at least got a breathing animation.

3 days in and people in my office keeps telling me I left my torch on lol
