The sooner this is clarified the better. People are understandably quite sceptical after apparent references to paying for Essential space were found in the code.
Essential space is the only reason I am planning to buy a Phone 3, so I’m really hoping this is just an error!
We’ll this is awkward… for nothing waiting for some good ol’ explanation and it better be good one!
Based on being the community for a while, nothing won’t respond or a give a answer to this , they have been quite silent on the questions regarding the essential space (ES) like will.it come for older models
And will it be paid
Here’s my reason for it samsung and google one of the biggest phone manufacturers are shifting towards paid Ai features if you know , by the end of this year samsung Ai will no longer be completely free , Nothing is just waiting for samsung to reveal it ai subscription prices and will release their own ai subscription on a similar price range based on reaction from the community
How much were you using it?
What the heck is going on? It doesn’t mention anywhere about a usage limit! I even read through all of their Terms & Conditions and it never mentions a limit. I’ve been using Essential Space like how it’s advertised; to save content ideas, track my daily expenses and set reminders. What’s the point building an exclusive feature for the phone and then slapping on a hidden limit into it? At least be transparent and let the users know what they’re getting into. One of the biggest reasons I wanted to get this phone was essential space because I tend to be forgetful of things. But now it’s hit with an unknown limit without any info on when it’s going to be renewed as well…
Anyone else facing the same issue?
Is it possible to implement ES specifically on our phones? So that servers are not used, then there will be no need to pay for servers
pandaman777 WAIT is this real? omg noooooo and I just bought it solely because of this feature too.
AanjeloSalgado Lol. I posted it on Reddit at the same time as here. But my post got merged with this post which just links to my Reddit post.
Woah, this is news for me as well. Not sure why the limit thing was not clarified by the nothing team right from the start.
Given this is a beta product and there’s so many AI credit-based systems, it’s one thing to chop this up to bring a snafu in them not thinking anyone would reach a limit.
However, on the heels of the leaks insinuating that there will be a subscription tied to Essential Space, this is just damning and added fuel to the fire.
I’m a couple days away from my return window on my 3a Pro. It’s a solid device, but there are compromises for the price, of course. However, a compromise on a button that has no/limited functionality without a monthly fee to use? Nah, I’ll pass.
You just took all the joy out of my Phone 3a.
JustRoss True, and they could use deepseek to run local so it could be ressource-consuming but free forever!
The least thing Nothing should’ve done would be pointing the limitation prior buying, but it’s nowhere mentioned on the product page, not even all the way down in the fine prints.
Curious how they will react to this, they made the Essential Space a key feature of the (3a) series, having a monthly limit without talking about it in advance, would be a real bad move.
AanjeloSalgado Welcome to the real world. This is how they earn. It’s all a game of PR. Nothing is no exception, no matter how much they claim they’re different from the rest of the brands. It’s a harsh truth, just accept it and don’t expect anything from Nothing. Or, fight Legally.
Do Nothing have a stance on refunds for the 3a series for this
Massive bait and switch and we’ll be left with a useless button if we don’t want to pay extra.
Even if nothing have any subscription idea about ES, tbh gonna refund my 3a pro rn.
AanjeloSalgado It’s been encouraging to see so many people using Essential Space since the Phone (3a) Series launch. As a result, we’ve increased the initial usage cap to a level that will comfortably accommodate the vast majority of users. Essential Space is a new feature that we’re incredibly excited about, and we are focused on refining the experience based on user feedback.
