Screen flickering

Just recently noticed that the nothing phone 3a pro has screen flickering I’m using the lastest update and the screen flickers randomly while using the phone i have attached a video for the following it is a screen recording. please look into this at the earliest and take required actions

AshleyLobo I’ve experienced the same issue. Rebooting the phone fixes it, but it has happened three times since I got this new phone. I’m not sure how to reproduce the problem.

Hi everyone,

I recently got the Nothing Phone (3a Pro) and I think I might have found a screen-related issue.

When I set a specific wallpaper, the screen starts to flicker — the brightness seems to fluctuate rapidly, almost like it’s pulsing. This happens both on the lock screen and the home screen.

I tried recording the screen to check if the flickering shows up in the video, but it doesn’t — everything looks normal in the recording. However, in person, the flickering is clearly visible.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions would be appreciated

It happens again. 😔 Possible causes that I can related to all 4 occurrences.

All occurrence happened after recharging from car using cigarettes charger.
All occurrence are charging with 3rd party cable.
All occurrence are using Android auto for more than 2 hours.

I will try to change to different charging cable and see if isolated the issue.

Khor Exactly the same happening here, it is always after a long car trip (with Android auto) and Rebooting fixes it.

The flickering is so hard btw.

I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Khor this sounds like a heat related issue (battery charging and/or sunlight or heavy usage). Personally, it sounds like poor quality solders/traces on the PCB itself. It doesn’t look like an adaptive brightness issue.

When you phone is doing this, I would place it in the fridge and see whether than fixes the issue.

It looks more like hardware than anything else.

Same issue here. Exactly like you guys point out. I think it may be related to the adaptive brightness.

mail_XDaPwPYvj3 long press power button for 10-15 seconds will trigger the restart.

Follow up:

Eliminate one possibility. This happened without charging the phone. Maybe it is due to Android Auto?

U1Prakash Nope but I don’t see this problem anymore after installing the last 2 updates. I am not sure if the update has fixed the problem. My current version is OS 3.2.

Khor okay got it, thanks for the reply. Mine has 3.2 as well, but it still occurs, it started recently from yesterday. Also, what do you think - is it a software problem or an hardware related stuff?

I was buy nothing 3a pro on 1 April i regret to buy this phone please don’t buy nothing phone.

-Since 2 month I was facing screen flickering issue maytimes whenever I restart the phone problem resolved temporary.

-Request to nothing please provide any permanent solution on this problem.
