I’ve been wondering why Essential Space suddenly requires full access to my photos and videos. Why can’t it function with limited access like most other apps? It feels unnecessary and intrusive.

When I first set up Essential Space, I don’t remember granting any such permission. But after resetting my phone, the app now demands “all photos” access just to set it up. That’s a red flag.

As far as I can tell, there’s currently no option to upload photos from the gallery to Essential Space. And even if such a feature exists, users should be able to choose specific photos, not hand over their entire library.

Also, saving images to the gallery shouldn’t require this level of access. Even with limited access, Essential Space can still save its own images to the gallery. So what’s the point of asking for full access?

It honestly feels like Nothing is trying to mine user data under the hood, which is disappointing. I’m holding off on using the app until they either fix this or clearly explain why they need access to all my photos
