The idea behind my design is to reexplore our relationship with technology.

The phone looks just like the black phone (3a); but with the warmth and touch of your hand, it shows all the colours that you can see.
A holographic layer covered by a black thermochromatic layer creates such an effect.

The smartphone, and digital technology in general, was supposed to be our “bicycle of the mind” and we grant it purpose in return, fostering a mutual relationship—a symbiosis. Yet, our attachment to these devices has deepened to the point where they now dictate who we are and how we live, taking away the mutualism of this relationship. This design essentially reminds us that it is our touch of warmth that gives it life and colour, and it is our responsibility to maintain this relationship. It is important to understand that, while we can give technology purpose, it can never grant us the life and identities that we create for ourselves.

Maybe this isn’t what the design solely represents; it is up to the each and every one of us to define this relationship between human and technology.

What do you think of the design?

And also, something that I would like to ask and mention, I think it was said in the project description that there are selected areas on the phone of which we are permitted to customize, and others are assigned to a signature colour. However, from what I have seen in the existing submissions, there were some of which that were not done accordingly and some used other parts of the phone. Now I’m starting to wonder if these rules strictly apply because if they don’t then I would have had much more space and creativity for the design and I would have probably done it differently. Not trying to nitpick but I feel like there were a couple that took it kinda far (especially with the back glass panel and all).

ttz0319 You’ve got my vote! I’m loving this design. Keep up the good work even if this doesn’t make it through.

Damn, That will be a whole next level of security.

An antifake sticker is used to detect whether a product seal has been opened or not.

Putting this all around the phone will secure the phone in many ways (JK 🤣)
