Hi guys !
I wanted to present my idea to everyone to well u know, show the idea and also understand how everyone feels about this.
Let me start with introducing myself, I am an industrial design who takes a lot of inspiration from my roots in India, taking inspiration from all the subtle things that we might ignore or overlook and express it through design.
I love making things that make people feel something and hopefully leave a mark, even if it’s subtle
Now the phone:
To know where this concept comes from, I will have to take you back 10 years. I grew up in the vibrant chaos of India, where entertainment didn’t come from screens. It came from whatever was around. We turned walls into stages, everyday objects into games, and subtle things into shared laughter.
As we grow up, we start to forget those small joys, the way we used to notice, invent, and play with our environment. This concept is a quiet tribute to that spirit. It’s about contrast, curiosity, and the kind of interaction that doesn’t demand your attention but earns it, slowly and subtly, just like the things we used to create when we were kids.
CMF:
that lands us on ‘Shadowchrome.' It is a concept that uses a photochromic back panel to give the phone a living, reactive quality. In sunlight, the white surface darkens to a sleek black, while in shade, it gradually returns to a clean white shade. This natural contrast not only creates a dynamic visual experience but also reflects the user’s environment in real time, without screens or sensors. It’s tech, that feels alive, quietly expressive, and deeply Nothing.
I wanted to keep the whole thing monochrome as I realised that almost all of the branding on this phone done by nothing is monochrome, minimal, and almost all white.
This is my attempt at making all of us feel like the phone talks to you along with you taking to it.
Here’s my submission for everyone to go in details
