Hello folks! This year is my first time joining a community project like this, and I’m excited to share my idea for the Accessory category. It’s inspired by a very real pain point—after years of misplacing my commuter pass (more times than I’d like to admit, haha), I figured it was time to turn the frustration into a functional solution. KevinTandoori Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. Yeah, I noticed the CMF Phone 1 had a card holder too—definitely a cool concept. I just wanted to take a different approach, especially for those of us who still rely on physical cards for transit or access (like in my home country). NFC is definitely becoming the norm in many places, but there are still countries where it hasn’t been fully integrated into train station turnstiles. That said, the card clip could also be used to store an office or apartment entry card, OR photo cards of K-POP idols haha. Glad you liked the design!

KevinTandoori I really like how simple and clean the design is, and the fact that it’s not bulky; many card holders take up space and protrude quite a lot. So you get my vote for this card clip!

Nice idea, it’s like the cmf phone 1 have card holder, but i liked yours design most, i thing that the most of people use nfc for payments.

If there aren’t magnets or adhesive how does it adhere?

patrick0 Good question! What I have in mind is to attach the Card Clip to the back of the phone using a combination of bonding materials that are removable, leave no residue, and are widely available in the consumer market. 😎

Simple and very practical! If it does get selected, I hope the product gets to be slim enough to not be intrusive to users with small or tight pockets. Thats a pain point in magsafe wallets.

PhoneGeek11 Thank you! Really appreciate that. And yes, totally agree—keeping it slim and low-profile is a big priority for me too. I’ve had the same issue with MagSafe wallets, which is why I plan to design the clip to sit as close to the phone’s surface as possible, with just enough grip to hold one essential card securely. The goal is to keep it sleek, pocket-friendly, and effortless to carry—especially for commuters like us. 🙌

Mel_E5ubMbr2Ni Great question! I’ve definitely thought about that. It would be brilliant to explore different colours, finishes, or even textures further down the line. While the initial idea focuses on a clean, matte, neutral look to match the Nothing Phone (3a), I’d love to introduce options like textured grip surfaces to make single-handed use more secure (as shown in the mock-up). Customisability could be a really fun way for users to make it their own without compromising the minimalist feel. 👌

KevinTandoori have you shared this idea in the dedicated community forum? I did see a page where users are listing their ideas and sharing their views.

Your accessory can be a multitasker it can be a stand to the phone and at times if it’s rough it can be like a clip to the pocket. Many Indians are facing phone robbery while traveling this can be a perfect way to stop getting robbed. 🙂

Love how practical this is. It blends right in with the phone and just makes sense. Would definitely use it! Even on other devices or my notebook🙂

aniketrege1991 Thanks so much for the support and ideas! I did post my concept in the Community Edition Project thread, but unfortunately didn’t get much feedback from the crowd there. I’ve actually considered the possibility of expanding it into a multi-functional tool such as a stand or clip-on, but feasibility is one of the key priorities right now. If the Nothing team is interested in exploring that direction, I’d definitely be open to it and would need their help to figure out how to make it work within their production timeline. Appreciate you seeing the potential in it!
