This is well overdue but one brand that comes to mind that had its run but had came to an end (kinda) was Nextbit.
I had the opportunity to be apart of their closed alpha/beta group and had a few visits to the HQ in San Francisco to help out with a few things and kinda squeeze into the day to day stuff. Met a ton of people and made friends that I still talk too.

If anyone remembers Nextbit main selling point was the cloud based software, with apps being able to load themselves in the cloud and off your device but still hold all the user data and with a simple tap on the app it’ll load itself right back onto the device. And while this whole process is happening it had a cool “loading” led indicators on the back to show when it’s working in the background.

The Nextbit Robin definitely had a fun eye catching device with its bright two tone colors (Mint, Ember, and kickstarter edition) I was early enough to get the kickstarter edition device with the whole package and custom silver sim tray.
(Also Nextbit logo/mascot was a sheep with a cloud like body)

Most probably don’t know but Nextbit was scooped up by Razer and most of the team members were part of the Razer phones (hints why it has same design language the Robin had), others had moved on and joined another company that was known as Essential.
