Time to get those 3D printers fired up!

CMF Phone 1 was our thickest smartphone yet, in contrast to CMF Phone 2 Pro which is now our thinnest phone ever!

CMF Phone 2 Pro is fully sealed for extra durability and the slimmer profile provides a great in-hand feel.

We’ve said goodbye to the fully removable back, but don’t worry - the spirit of modularity is still alive as we introduce our new Universal Cover system, which is even more versatile than before.

This new approach brings even more freedom to creatives who want to build accessories for CMF Phone 2 Pro without diminishing the core smartphone experience.

I dont get it. You say removable back as in phone 1 is gone. So we get to build custom covers. But then you say “community developed covers were not optimal” so why should the community develop covers again?

Rob ⚡️ : as the phone visuals display the thickness seems almost similar. I believe it’s the accessories which may come for CMF 2 pro that will get to the same thickness compared to CMF 1 or until we have hands on I believe we need to experience the thin CMF 2 Pro 🙂

LEPE This go with “since functioning buttons couldn’t be easily printed.”, in the end, just a better way to do covers without having to care about buttons and other modular parts that you couldn’t easily print

LEPE because if community covers don’t have buttons they’ll be better. Most people lack the skill to build buttons into what they print.

interesting, as the third-party rear-covers I bought for my CMF1 (glow-in-the-dark and translucent) came with buttons.

they were produced by people from the previous CMF1 challenge here.

I think the idea of a community edition backplate might be cool. Maybe included in the nothing community edition posts as an extras category.
