Missing "Device as Webcam" Feature on Nothing OS 2.5 (Android 14)

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my Nothing Phone (3a) to Nothing OS 3.1 based on Android 15

As you might know, Android 14 added a native “Device as Webcam” feature where you can simply connect your phone via USB and use it as a webcam without any third-party apps.

However, when I check my USB preferences, I still only see the old options: File Transfer, USB Tethering, MIDI, PTP, and No Data Transfer — there’s no “Webcam” option.

Is this feature not enabled yet in Nothing OS?

I’m on the latest system update as of May 2025.

USB Debugging is enabled, but no Webcam mode appears.

Anyone else facing this? Is there a hidden setting or is Nothing planning to add it in a future update?

AyushKejriwal Hey mate. Are you using OS 2.5 or OS 3.0, your title doesn’t quite match the post itself.

Either way, this is likely a feature that Nothing has excluded from Nothing OS but, might be available on other phones. I’d suggest logging it as a feature request via settings > system > feedback

Just to clarify the webcam feature was introduced around the Nothing OS 2.5 era, and it’s disappointing to see that even with Nothing OS 3.1 and new devices, it’s not being given proper attention.

Honestly, for me (and probably many others), native Android features like this are crucial. If core functionalities are missing, it really makes me reconsider if it’s worth investing in a device, especially when the focus seems more on gimmicky things like Glyph lights rather than improving the actual user experience.

If Nothing can’t prioritize essential features, I don’t see much reason not to just go for a Pixel instead. Hope you’ll pass this feedback along I genuinely want to stick with Nothing, but not at the cost of practicality.
