How to enable call recording (UK)

Hi guys,

As I’m a type of guy that usually forgets everything as soon as a conversation is over, I found myself more than once that a call recording help me a lot. I usually like to listen to a recording that I had with different clients or colleagues so I don’t forget about specific details when describing a problem.

On my old OnePlus phones these options were not by default but it could be enabled by accessing secret menus from de phone dialer. Making screen recording available in the call menu.

I know in UK it’s allowed to record the call as long as the other party is aware of it.

Does anyone know how to enable this? I know other countries have it and it’s locked by region, so I presume it should be available to activate without rooting?!

Allelujah When making a call, tap “More” on the call screen. The button for Recording the call will show up.

Tap on it to begin recording.

In the settings of the dialer app, you can choose either a message or a beep to signify that the call is being recorded.

Yes, I’m aware that on some regions this is how you turn on the recorder.

In UK we don’t have that option

What I want is the option to turn on the recording function.

Gun_Put I don’t want a 3rd party, too many bad ones and can’t trust them.

As I was able to do it with OnePlus phones, I don’t see why we can’t do it with nothing phones. The function is definitely in the os but not activated by region, this thing can be usually unlocked…just don’t know how.

I was hoping someone from the team can see this and tell me what they thi about it. I they say it can’t be done then so be it.

Allelujah That MAY happen if N decides to build their own dialer app & decides to disregard local laws, if any, that forbid it.

The UK law allows it as long as the participant is aware of the recording.

The thing is, and I’m willing to bet, the code already exists in the OS regarding the region it’s just that the code is commented or something.

There is an option to alert the callee either with an announcement or by a beep.

Allelujah If, as you say, it’s not illegal in UK, then just send a request to N thru the feedback form to add this feature to N phones there.

They might just listen!

@ “Allelujah” #p22872, we are eagerly anticipating Nothing to make its own stock dialer, which would include the capability to enable call recording in regions where it is legally permissible. Samsung currently achieves this effectively through its own stock phone dialer, employing region-specific features through CSC configurations.

Can anyone is Australia confirm call recording is available? I’m looking at switching from IPhone to Nothing Phone 2a due to the lack of call recording. In Australia, call/conversation recording is legal by any participant.
