I agree that it’s nice to have an microSD slot, it’s very useful actually, but that being said, regarding your quoted part here, microSD cards as a storage fail and/or get corrupted infinitely more often than phone and its storage. Which is why frequent backups are mandatory for important stuff, but then you don’t really need a microSD expansion for anything else but convenience of more accessible storage.
