HiBye_DjUfNbeduz open music app and play any music. Then minimize the app.. it’ll be added to the widget. I have experienced the same problem. Now it’s working correctly. But it also depends the media we played. When I played a video in VLC the widget automatically add VLC as default. So next time when I play through widget,it will not work. So manually I need to go to music app and play a song. Hope this will help..
