Wissou I too have been riding since I was 16! My dad has always ridden bikes so it was easy to win my parents over to getting one.
I started out on a Rieju tango, a geared 2 stroke 50cc that maxed out at 45mph when the wind was pushing me and the stars aligned, kick start in the winter wasn’t great but having anything but a moped was pretty cool. Then I moved onto a Honda XR125L, bulletproof bike, a lot more premium than the Rieju, I sold it to a mate when I moved to a bigger bike but he blew it up, so I bought it back off him and I’ve still got it now!
So, big bike time, I’d done my two years needed in the UK on a 125cc (at the time, rules have changed now) and I moved to a Kawasaki Versys 650. Finally motorway speeds were achievable, and I did a tour down to the south of France, and I even put @Rob ⚡️ on the back for a Sunday ride, unfortunately a commuting accident happened, and the Versys was written off. My left index was also a write off, don’t worry I still have a left index, but it did need some surgery afterwards with a metal plate, officially a cyborg now!
Present day, I’m on a tracer 900, another sports tourer with lots more power but slightly less comfy than the Versys, sometimes I put my girlfriend on the back and blast around Dartmoor national park.
For the future, I’m looking at the husqvarna norden 901, looks like a great bit of kit and I’ve never had a European bike so keen to see what it’s like!
