I seem to have an odd quirk / fault with my always on display on my new NP2. If I lock my phone and place it down (screen up) on a hard white surface, the AoD usually fades off after about 5 or 6 seconds. Any other darker hard surface such as wood or soft fabric surfaces such as the arm of the sofa, it works fine. Another complexity of this behaviour is that if I have the phone on a hard white surface and lock the screen whilst remaining on the surface the AoD usually stays on, however if I lock it whilst holding the device in my hand then place it down (after the display briefly blinks), then it will fade off.
Would this suggest a fault with one of the ambient light sensors?
Do any other users experience this quirk?
One remedy I have tried so far is deselecting the AoD settings, restarting the phone then switching back on, to no effect. I know the AoD goes off when the phone is in your pocket, must be using a combination of the light and proximity sensors, it looks like the phone is somehow reverting to this state.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
