Turn off Glyph timer w/ volume/power buttons
You can try this method.
Activate face unlock. Enable “skip swipe to unlock”.
Under Gestures, assign the 2 button to Glyph timer and enable “Lift to show lock screen”.
Once the timer goes off, lift up your phone, scan your beautiful face and it should go directly to the home screen and then double tap the power button to switch off the timer.
Hope this helps.
No can’t as far as i know
Glenn Gonzalo G that might work, but I’m always wearing a mask in the situation I’m describing
Remi F I’ll have to try letting it time out, that could work for now.
I think they should update it to turn off from volume/lock buttons in the future, and restart your music after dismissing the alarm if it paused it. It feels like an incomplete, or at least clunky feature if you have to unlock the phone to stop the alarm. The glyph light makes it feel more convenient bc you don’t need your screen, but then ending the timer is less convenient than the average stock timer app and app store timer app.
roweder there’s an option to unlock the phone with a mask.
Glenn Gonzalo G Oh, I didn’t realize that’s an option

I tried letting the timer alarm until it stopped, but it was still going after around two minutes. That’s already too long to wait out every day, so I stopped it there. The other thing I thought of was muting the alarm so it would only use the light. That works, but if I’m playing music, it pauses it and keeps it paused.
The timer alarm in the clock app also can’t be silenced using the lock or volume buttons. I guess I need to figure out how to put in a feature request
Maybe you could try my method by setting up the gestures and 2 button click as mentioned earlier. I tried it yesterday and it works.
roweder I very much agree on this! It feels kinda odd that you have such a cool function to see your timer (from afar, even) while your phone is faced down, but no option to turn it off while it remains faced down after the timer is off.
In my experience, most of the time that i would use a timer, it is to keep track of a certain task that I’m doing. So once the timer is up, i would probably wanna stop the timer and turn to that task as quickly as possible. Having to lift the phone up, and unlock the screen to turn off the timer kinda delays that and causes some inconveniences. At this rate, i might be better off using the regular timer with the phone faced upwards, so that i can more easily stop the timer when it’s off.
World be cool stuff to be able to stop the timer from ringing once it expires on my sons phone, without the need to unlock it first.
Also, can we somehow Set up a glyph timer by Google assistant?
