How would you take advantage of Glyph Matrix?

Seems like Glyph Matrix will be the next big thing in terms of recognizability of the Nothing brand, replacing the iconic Glyph Interface.

Last year they offered the chance to third party devs to take advantage of the Glyphs to communicate with apps, and even if the use case was very limited from the Glyph Light Interface itself we have experienced some cool implementations.

I see a lot of potential in Glyph Matrix, where lights can communicate in a clearer way, and if Nothing would also open this API to third party devs I bet ideas would overflow, because there is literally no limitations: it is just a small secondary screen.

I would love to know your POV about it, what you expect from the new Interface and how third party devs can improve their app experience specifically for Nothing users.

Mirko_ddd Generally speaking, it should have all of the functionality of the Glyph Interface. But since it isn’t LED strips but rather an assortment of LEDs making up a screen, there is more you can do with it in a more compact and sleek format.

For example, ringtones and notifications are (hopefully) still a very central part of the Glyph Matrix. Instead of individual light strips lighting up to create a fairly memorable visual que, now you could see different shapes, awesome abstract patterns and maybe even text on the screen, all assigned to different contacts and such.

The Glyph Matrix has actual potential, which is why I’m hoping that they open up an API, like you said. And I also hope that they update the Glyph Composer alongside it to support the Phone (3)! Lots of fun to be had there.

I think the glyphs were much more noticeable instead of a small screen. The glyphs have a lot of potential, especially the new live activities

Mirko_ddd Hey, the Glyph Matrix already have their SDK available and I am sure third party app developers are working on that. Glyphify also got the support of phone 3, I have also given support in my app and 1 more developer I know who is actively working on this

Nicouschulas as far as I’ve seen the screen has enough density to display whole piece of texts or icons, much clearer than a blinking light.
