NP1, 2, 2a, 3a all set their unique character apart from the mass with their unique design language and breaking the boredom bringing usability and light to office/work and dark places by incorporating glyphs making the back of the device a living second personality instead of the (imminent) soulless boring back plate.
This device lost (In my humble personal opinion) a key factor that made the device stand out, a whole device light experience (glyph(s)) that was previously taken forth and enriched by THE COMMUNITY (@GlyphLab, @Vishwam, @Fr4nKB) bringing many third party apps to use this and make It an Integral part of our everyday Interaction with the device (think of It like when Sammy botched BT from the SPen).
What pollenjh and robertKanalos portrayed would, In many cases, be my optimal evolution from NP1, 2, but here we are, left with a mundane tangram like back with no glyphs (to even make the difference) thus botching a useful feature loved and used by ALL, taking away down the road Nothing’s signature and personality and slapping a tiny round mono-dot display at the top, leaving the rest 6/7 of the device dark and lifeless, flipity, flopity, flop.
