YouTube comments going way too fast to bother with it. Initial comments to follow here…
- Pleased to hear Carl acknowledge ‘AI-phobia’, which for me is due to it having the protentional to erode privacy & security.
- Allowing users to be creative, perhaps making their hardware more personal, is a good thing.
- So the leaks were accurate? I don’t mind the design. Same but different. I don’t mind if the Glyphs have gone, but wish the Glyph Matrix was bigger.
- Essential Space needs offline, private functionality! At the very least for transcribing, which is already done on device before being uploaded.
- 20% of users are using the Essential Key weekly? Are most of those accidental touches?
- ‘Flip-to-Record’ works by turning device over and pushing the Key?! How many private conversations are going to be recorded accidentally then sent to third party servers for processing…
- I’m still not onboard with facedown usage. The Matrix and its ‘Glyph Toys’ can work just as well if not better as an AOD. Can still remain a 25 × 25 grid, has I/O, and would not require the additional costs of A&D and parts.
- Not a ‘gimmick’? The Matrix’s functionality could work on the front screen without users having to unlock the device.
- I don’t use headphones, but I like the design of this. The cassette tape influence is a nice touch. If the grey ‘buttons’ visibly span round when in use other people could see when users were listening to something.
- Why not make those buttons on the outside the buttons that controlled the headphones?
