Our first post on the Revolute dial had about 10k views and some nice community interactions so here we are with a part 2 update where we finalized a Nothing version design of the Revolute dial. (first post where we introduced what it does: https://nothing.community/d/34936-a-nothing-dial-for-creatives-introducing-revolute/14)
Before anything, I know how many of us feeling about the new phone 3, I get it. So today we wanted to share something that could be refreshing and exciting.
For the past week, I pulled together a new design and prototype of the Revolute dial to match the authentic design aesthetics of Nothing.

Transparency & light

I aimed to maintain the authentic designs of technical warmth with transparency and minimalistic originality of the electrical components on the inside of the device. Our original signature led indicator harmonized with the transparent housing expresses the glyph inspired language of light (rip glyphs you will be remembered).
Revopod charger case

The Revopod charger case was designed partially in inspiration of the nothing open ear earbuds charger case. It’s sleek, portable, and keeps Revolute charged on the go—perfect for creatives who get inspirations on-the-go or like to work outside the studio.
Braille - symbol of technical warmth

Braille, being one of the signatures of revolute’s original designs, is a representation of the physical/tangible interactions of humans with the abstract world —something that you can touch and feel. It’s concept fundamentally represents the Revolute in a way of which it helps us navigate this technological world where we are blinded by the numbers and digits that dictate our original senses and feelings. It’s like when we say “it feels better with this color than that one” instead of saying something like “#B9B9B9FF feels better than #D0D0D0FF,” right?
The revolute as a dial device essentially helps us bridge this gap between computer interpretations and our organic feelings of the digital world through our sense of physical touch and twist of the dial, making our interactions with tech more humanistic and relatable than ever.
Our vision
We want to turn this project that we did for fun during high school into a real product that can be distributed as a creative experience for people, something that is actually fun and creative.
Why here? Why nothing?
But remember, we’re just two idiot hobby developers that still has to go to school, not a startup. We need a partner to bring this to life, and we can’t think of a better fit than Nothing. Here’s why:
The Nothing community:
- Nothing has one of the most creative and engaging communities in tech brands, where people actively share their ideas and designs.
- community projects that are able to bring together hundreds of creative professionals and hobby creators like you and I, where revolute can truly shine as a tool of design to unleash our creative potentials.
Endless potentials:
The revolute dial is more than a tool for creatives, it’s a fun gadget for anyone to use for anything: gaming, music production, accessibilities, and much more.
Shared visions:
Low risk, high impact:
A Tribute to You
We want Revolute to be more than a project—it’s a tribute to the Nothing Community that keeps this brand vibrant. Instead of phone giveaways, imagine a product designed for the creatives of the community who make Nothing shine. We believe Revolute can:
Reignite excitement with a fun, innovative tool.
Show the world Nothing’s potential to do tech differently in a good way, not just any different.
Deepen the bond between the brand and the community.
So tell us what you guys think about our design and plan for the Revolute dial, we really hope that we can one day soon be able to distribute this as a product and creative experience with everyone. If you are interested in learning more about the revolute dial, feel free to dm us or start a private conversation with us.
Also, we would be really glad if this could get reviewed by the Nothing team or maybe take part in the “nothing reacts”
