Suggestion - Bring Nothing OS to Pixel Devices?

Hey Nothing!

Just an idea to throw out here - there are so many custom firmwares for Google’s Pixel devices. Why not capitalize on Nothing OS 3.X and higher by allowing customers to buy a license to install Nothing OS on compatible Pixel devices since your phones can literally be used on only one carrier in the US?

Heck, to make it worth your while, charge a license fee for it! $99 USD? I would pay for it annually!

Well, then they need better modems to cover all carriers in the US otherwise there is no point in selling their devices here. Sucks to have an amazing product and design, yet forces the buyer to go to T-Mobile - which is spotty service at best…

ZeroNULLvoid every time I go back and visit the states (where I grew up) I am shocked at how far behind it is technologically.

In Oxford, I get 10Gib/s to my house for under £100/mo and when I travel in China or Russia, I can pay so easily (retinal/face scan in Russia) and WePay in China.

I can’t even get my tap-to-pay from a UK bankcard to work well in the US.

Honestly, I hope that NOTHING isn’t looking to hard at the US market as it requires so much resource to cover gaping holes in service.

It’s more easly that some developer team will make custom rom of nothing os and will support it.

Honestly it would be fantastic if some dev team got a hold of it and was able to port it over. I don’t know if Nothing will ever bump up their modems to something like an Apple or Samsung modem that will cover all bands and all carriers.

I thought maybe for the people that love the design language, look, and feel, can at least enjoy the experience until they enjoy the physical experience of being on a Nothing phone with the carrier of their choice instead of being forced into one.

I think most people aren’t interested or simple can’t install other OS/UIs so many potential users would be eliminated. Furthermore apple shouldn’t be possible/very difficult because it’s completely different then android phones. Lastly the nothing OS is a big part of their phones, and if everybody could install it you could buy a cheaper phone with same specs for example and then nothing lose more customers.

I think I am going to have to re-evaluate my current provider and go from there. GoogleFi is amazing, even for a T-Mobile MVNO. Only problem is is that I work for their competitor, and with the employee discount “profile” on my service, I can’t port out my pone number. So…I would have to take a new number sadly. But the benefits of using Nothing OS far outweigh anything else in this excuse for a country!
