I’ve been using the Nothing Phone (1) for almost two years now. I didn’t buy it on day one, but I’ve been with the brand since their very first model. Back then, Nothing stood out with its unique design, clean software, and a promise to be different from other brands — especially the typical Chinese smartphone companies known for downgrading older devices over time.
But sadly, I’m starting to feel like Nothing is heading down the same path.
The camera quality on my Phone (1) has noticeably worsened with recent updates. What used to be sharp and vibrant now looks dull, washed out, and lacks detail. At first, I thought it was just me — but it’s clear now that something has changed. And it’s frustrating to feel like this is being done intentionally to push users toward buying a newer model.
Phone (1) was never a budget phone. We trusted the brand, paid a decent amount, and expected long-term value. I’m not asking for major improvements or new features — just don’t downgrade the experience we originally paid for. That’s the least any user would expect.
If Nothing really wants to be different, it has to respect its early supporters — not silently degrade their devices over time. I hope the team listens and restores the performance we once had.
