There is a big problem with the screen of the Nothing Phone 2. Another big problem is that if you want the phone to shine at its maximum, you have to set it to adaptive brightness since if you set it manually to 100% it won’t really give you all the brightness you need outdoors.

You can test It with a lamp at home , máximum manually VS máximum adaptative brightness

I purchased my Nothing Phone 2 on Dec 18 2023. I noticed these on 7th day and informed customer care. They told me to visit the service centre. The thing is these spots were visible only at brightness below 50% level at that time. So they refused to replace it. Now after a month, I can see the spots at 50% and above. Nothing has one of the worst display manufacturers in India. I want a display replacement.

I have the same problem, the seller won’t take the phone back either, I’m going through the process of going to court…it’s a bit stressful, I spend a good amount of money on something and I can’t really use it, it’s been almost a month since I’ve contacted the seller.

My nothing phone 2a is less than a month old ,and already has screen retention of status bar icons and instagram icons at the bottom.95% of the units shall have it just check under grey screens

There is also a problem of uniformity of the display that can be checked by the inbuilt hardware test “*#*#0#*#*”.

There is also a bug in the lock screen.If you lower your brightness completely and pull down the control centre/notification panel,just see what joke of a display this is .

Dont know what to do ,i love the phone but the display quality is trash.

ArijitSaha_ThKdsIUmsH experiencing the same bug on my 2a. It’s funny, really—panel uniformity is great when the device is unlocked and in use, but horrific when on the lock screen. Support has no idea what’s going on and if I bring this to a service center they’ll probably shoo me away for a “within tolerance” defect.

Like seriously, guys—you can’t tell me that this isn’t bad.

TrayambakeshwarSanfui to be fair that was shot in night mode on my iPhone so it’s a tad exaggerated. Nonetheless it looks terrible even in actual viewing. I don’t like using this phone at minimum brightness; the lock screen looks almost like someone splattered hot sauce all over it.

steph in my case in low brightness every thing is ok the only problem is when I pick up call in low brightness a line appear and those dark spot

Holy shit. This is really concerning for someone like me as I have been saving up for a new phone and all the accessories.

Can anyone from the team look into this and maybe suggest a fix for this?

So this is not really a issue that needs attention. Enjoy the AMOLED feature.

Fractal If enough people complain, there will be a fix. Already talked to support prior and all they did was send me a templated message regarding OLED uniformity issues being standard in the industry and not a cause for concern.

No, that’s not the case here—it’s software screwing up the panel uniformity on the lock screen for me and other 2a owners. I had a similar issue with my iPhone 11 Pro (green tint and haze) when I got it around 2020, and it was resolved silently via a software update before 2021 even rolled around. Why can’t they just say they’re aware and working on a fix?
