Apps not loading in full screen mode

On my previous phone (Samsung), when I used to open an app, the bottom gesture bar used to be covered in app colour or it used to load on top of the app interface. It looked like the app was loading in full screen.

On NP2, the bottom gesture bar always has a black section at the bottom and the apps are not loading in full-screen mode. I have tried the settings section where you can enable full-screen mode for individual apps, but it is still not loading like a full-screen app.

Any fix?

jd1885 I’ve noticed this too while watching YT videos.

The ‘fix’ is to do a slight pinch to zoom, then the video fills the entire screen with no noticeable loss in sharpness.

They are full screen, lol.

The colors at bottom or top are controlled by the apps themselves, regardless, they are still full screen.

Is exactly the same on Pixel phones also.

Try different apps and you’ll notice, like YouTube Music for instance, you’ll see how it is full screen.
