Just unpacked my phone 3, and after some downtime prepping my old device to transfer, I’m ready to go.
Power on, go through the language prompt, insert my SIM, get to the Wi-Fi screen, connect to my Wi-Fi.
Error, can’t connect to internet.
Try again, same. Try this several times, try using a different mobile as a hotspot, same. again and again.
Give up and click “Use mobile data” …
Can’t connect to internet.
Remove SIM, try a different SIM.
Can’t connect to internet.
Try original SIM.
Can’t connect to internet
I power down the device and restart in the vain attempt to get started. Continue in this loop several times noting both the Wi-Fi and sim icons show the “!” in the status bar.
Give up and proceed to offline setup. speed though the prompts because now I’m annoyed with this flagship experience.
Click though all of the options and arrive at the main home screen where miraculously, both Wi-Fi and 5G start working 😕
So now I’m downloading a software update before performing a factory reset in the hope, I have a better run and can actually spend some time learning and customising the phone.
If not, it’s back in the box. 😞
